Sydney may not be the shopping mecca when in comparison to other cities, however the city has definitely developed in recent years it’s shopping districts; enough to provide hours of retail therapy for visitors & residents in pockets throughout the city & it’s suburbs.

Pitt St Mall & QVB

The Pitt St Mall is a beautiful outdoor hub of all things fashion. The outdoor mall is aligned with shopping centres throughout. Westfield is one of the major centres along this mall. Having been recently refurbished Westfield carries some of the biggest names from Europe & the USA.

Store selections include Zara, Gap, Chanel & Miu Miu. If it Australian labels you seek, you can find these here also. The funky brand Sass & Bide are in this location, so be sure to check out there range of denim – with great names such as The Announcement & Jekyll & Hyde, you know these jeans are worth a look.

You will also find other major shopping areas such as Myer – great for there cosmetics emporium. Mid City Centre is also here, check out the store Sunburn if visiting here. They have bikini’s galore.


Still abuzz on a Saturday Paddington is definitely a spot for those after stylish garments. The Oxford St. shops of this sector start from Darlinghurst Rd and take you all the way to Queen St. A hefty walk but along the way make sure to stop at the following: Apex Shoes – beautiful heels with unique designs. Palm Beach Shoes latest styles of shoes which are extremely cheap.

If you are after a kaftan like no other visit Camilla. The queen of kaftans, you can find brightly coloured outfits which make a statement anywhere you go.

DFO – Designer Factory Outlet

Located in Homebush, this centre is approximately 20minutes by car from the city. It is open 7 days a week, so although if you can make it in the week that is probably best. As the bargain shoppers all make there way there on the weekends & parking can be difficult. Not to dishearten you though, as an outlet there are some great purchases to be made here. Stores such as Oroton, Coach, Ralph Lauren & Mimco have stores here, and you can really pick up a bargain. The outlet claims to have up to 70% off retail prices and this rings true for some stores. Although make sure you check your items as some will be simliar to retail cost.
